At Butcher’s Pet Care we believe that
as a manufacturing company and brand owner we have a responsibility
to produce our products both to the highest quality standards achievable
and to do so ethically. Therefore, in conjunction with both our suppliers
and customers we have developed our ethical policy, which aims to
reflect owner’s concerns and requirements regarding the food
they give their pets.
At Butcher’s Pet Care we make it a priority to listen to our
customers and to ensure that we continue to produce pet food that
is based on quality and palatability whilst providing all the essential
nutrients your pet needs.
The key elements of our policy are broken down into four areas: Taste
Assessment; Raw Materials; Packaging and Finished Products.
Taste Assessment
At Butcher’s pet Care we believe that product palatability is
key to a successful food. Our aim is to produce premium food that
not only tastes great but also provides your pet with all the essential
nutrients required for a fit, healthy and happy animal.
At Butcher’s Pet Care all our palatability tests (to gauge the
pets acceptance of the product) are carried out in the pets natural
home setting. Butcher’s Pet Care Ltd will not develop any product
using either captive animals or invasive testing techniques.
This enables the pet to trial the food in a non-stressful, everyday
environment. All our tests are guaranteed to be non-invasive and no
pet is ever put at risk as all products are scientifically analysed
to ascertain nutritional content before palatability trials commence.
Feedback given by the owners on how interested the pets were about
the food and how much they ate is used to develop the final recipe.
Butcher’s Pet Care conduct extensive quality checks on-line
in the production of the product to ensure only the very best of our
products reach supermarket shelves.
Raw Materials
At Butcher’s we believe that what we exclude form our products
is just as important as what we include. We also believe that all
food should be as natural as possible, all our products are made with
natural ingredients. Butcher’s Pet Care also sources all raw
materials via the freshest route available, ensuring best quality.
In order to further protect the environment Butcher’s Pet Care
guarantee that all seafood’s are caught using dolphin friendly
techniques and all materials are derived from sustainable sources
and are readily replenished.
Packaging
Our customers are keen to see the policy include statements about
the importance of recycling and our commitment to the ‘green’
sector. As a result Butcher’s Pet Care can confirm that:
• The company recycles used packaging materials such as cardboard
and plastic film
• Paper and card packaging on finished products is made from
recycled materials where possible
• All cans used in production are made from recyclable steel.
Finished Products
All customers want to be reassured that the food they give their pets
has been developed with quality in mind and that quality systems have
been introduced at every stage of the process. Butcher’s Pet
Care puts quality first every time.
